A dance club and lounge for the Preppy set. It's only open on weekends and often has long lines to get in. Once inside, make a dash for the comfortable settees unless you just can't wait to get yourself out onto the dance floor to boogie down argyle style.

A classic Irish pub with a decent jukebox. Who could ask for more? Don't be surprised to see many of the same faces visit after visit. This place is a home away from home to many a west side bar crawler.

To many, this place is the chosen one. This bar/club, which sits in a Jewish Cultural Center, features 23 types of beer and a history of top performers. In fact, Norah Jones played these halls in her pre-Grammy days.

This is New York's newest addition to the performing arts scene. The first name in world-class jazz, this snazzy performance venue is located on an upper atrium of the Time Warner Center with views of the city for inspiration. Their program of events is under the supervision of Artistic Director and famed musician Wynton Marsalis. Although not in the main Lincoln Center complex, it stills fall under the moniker of "Jazz at Lincoln Center."

Shalel Lounge

Located between Central Park West and Columbus, this quiet bar/restaurant attracts a steady following. The food is Moroccan and the atmosphere, pure casbah.

Owned by musicians Ashford and Simpson of "Solid like a rock" fame, this bar has a great selection of drinks and a mellow groove. Always crowded, this place has a loyal following.
