430 East 57th Street

Co-op located in Beekman/Sutton Place, between First Avenue & Sutton Place

Description of 430 East 57th Street

430 East 57th Street is a classic pre-war cooperative located between Sutton Place and York Avenue, where 57th Street’s Billionaires’ Row meets the old world charm of the quiet, river-adjacent Sutton Place neighborhood. The co-op, built in 1926, flaunts quintessential hallmarks of luxury pre-war living. The stately, brick-and-limestone Renaissance façade sports ornate lanterns and arched windows at the ground floor. A planter-flanked entrance canopy makes for a dry arrival from the curb to the foyer in any weather.

White-glove service comes courtesy of a full-time doorman, an elevator operator, and a live-in superintendent. Apartments feature spacious interiors, entry foyers, nine-foot-plus ceilings, large paneled windows, abundant closet space, dishwashers, and windowed kitchens and bathrooms. Many units come with wood-burning fireplaces, and service entries and staff rooms. Amenities include a gym, courtyard, laundry room, and full-time staff including live-in superintendent and elevator operator. In-unit washer/dryers and pets are permitted, and pied-a-terres are permitted on a case-by-case basis.

Small but cozy Sutton Place Park sits down the block and across Sutton Place to the east and overlooks the East River from a lofty perch. The East River promenade is accessible three short blocks to the north, at Andrew Haswell Green Park just past the Queensboro Bridge. Beneath the bridge one may also find Gustavino’s, a vault-roofed event venue, and Sutton East Tennis, a covered indoor space with eight red clay tennis courts. Ample shopping and dining venues of Midtown and the Upper East Side lie within a short walk, while Central Park sits several blocks to the northwest.
