Carter Horsley's Review of Lawrence House

Carter Horsley's Building Review
"This robust postwar apartment house has a superb location in the most desirable section of Greenwich Village. It is a block north of the Jefferson Grocery, the real Ray's Pizza, a wonderful magazine store, and the excellent PS 41, two blocks north of the landmark Jefferson Market Courthouse Library and Balducci's, and across the street from the New School for Social Research. This block and 11th, Tenth and Ninth Streets between the Avenue of the Americas and Fifth Avenue are widely considered among the most attractive in the city. The 16-story building, whose white-brick façade has a strong horizontal emphasis, was built in 19961 and converted to a cooperative in 1982. It has 106 apartments and is one block from an express subway station on Seventh Avenue and two blocks from cross-town buses on 14th Street." Read Carter's Full Review
