This is a typical, 18-story, red-brick apartment house of its era, but it has a bit more flair than many of its contemporaries because it has an unusual entrance that is slightly angled and has a free-standing, stainless steel column.

It was erected in 1957 and converted to a cooperative in 1984. It has 206 apartments.

The building has a one-story limestone base with a polished black granite entrance surround, a concierge, and consistent fenestration. It permits protruding air-conditioners and has no sidewalk landscaping, no garage and no health club.

This area of the Upper East Side has with many restaurants and good neighborhood shopping nearby. There is good cross-town bus service on 79th Street, but the closest subway station is at Lexington Avenue and 77th Street.
