This handsome, pre-war, 15-story apartment house has a very central and convenient Upper East Side location on a major cross-town street just to the west of Third Avenue.

Built in 1923 and converted to a cooperative in 1984, the light beige-brick building has 146 apartments. The facade has very delicate and fine detailing including a garland frieze of putti and shields across the top of the first floor. The building has a recessed light well in the middle of its facade above its canopied entrance.

The doorman building has considerable light and air because it is across from a setback tower on Third Avenue and some low-rise buildings across the street.

The neighborhood here is elegant and attractive with many restaurants and some of the Upper East Side’s most famous stores, such as Grace’s Marketplace and Gracious Home, nearby on Third Avenue.
