The building has a concierge and a 5-step-up, canopied entrance, a garage and sidewalk landscaping. It permits protruding air-conditioners and has no health club, no balconies, and no roof deck. The east and west ends of the building are slightly set back.

The completion in 2001 of the expanded headquarters of Sotheby's, the auction house, nearby on York Avenue and 72nd Street has culminated a long general upgrading of this neighborhood, which is also close to the hospital complexes and Rockefeller University south of Sotheby's on York Avenue.

There is considerable nightlife in the 70's along First and Second Avenues and good cross-town bus service on 72nd Street. The nearest subway, however, is at 67th Street and Lexington Avenue and there are no major parks in this area.
