The lobby is being renovated in a few weeks. There is a small, but good gym downstairs. There is also storage. The laundry room is huge. There is a lovely courtyard between 425 and 420 which is beautiful to sit out in. 420 E 64th is under the same board as 425 E 63rd. It is a condop board of which my mother is the president. My father was also the president for many years. Because it is a condop, no one is rejected unless they are a criminal, do not pay their taxes, do not have their finances in reasonable order. It is an amazing neighborhood that is only getting better. Having lived in the building for 23 years, I have seen the neighborhood change a lot. While on the Upper East Side, it is minutes from the best of midtown including Bloomingdales. There are tons of stores on Third Avenue, which is a 5 minutes walk from the building. There is a Bed Bath & Beyond two blocks away, in addition to tons of restaurants. It is also a short walk from the NRW, 456, & F trains. Going North, where is only access to the 6, there are so many subways, to get anywhere you never need to transfer.
