This very handsome building at 154 West 70th Street was designed in 1899 by Robert Maynicke and was originally known as the Ormonde before becoming the Hotel Embassy and then Embassy Tower.

In their great book, "The A. I. A. Guide to New York City, Fourth Edition," Norval White and Eliot Willensky described it as "a soldier in the battle of Broadway, bringing substance and scale to the boulevard."

The Seminole at 2020 Broadway on the northeast corner at 69th Street was designed in 1896 by Ware & Styne-Harde.

The Embassy Tower is 12 stories high and has 176 rental apartments. It is distinguished by its rounded corner at Broadway and deep cornice. It has three bandcourses and some balconies on the fifth floor. The building has a doorman and a roof deck and is pet-friendly. Many renovated apartments have washers and dryers.

It is convenient to the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and is close to Central Park and the 72nd Street subway station. There are numerous restaurants and boutiques in the vicinity.
