About 388 West Broadway
This very handsome and classic cast-iron loft building was converted in 2003 to four condominium apartments.
In the heart of SoHo, it has deeply inset, large windows and an attractive cornice. The five-story building was erected in 1872 and has a very high fenestration ratio and is one of the most distinguished cast-iron buildings in the city.
While there is considerable traffic along West Broadway, it is also the “main street” of SoHo and this area abounds in impressive boutiques and nice restaurants. There is good public transportation in the area.
The building has an elevator, a video intercom system, “smart” wiring, and key-locked elevators, but no doorman, no garage, no sidewalk landscaping and no concierge.
The apartments are large. One, for example, has a 31-by-30-foot living room with 11-foot ceilings and a fireplace and a 700-square-foot master bedroom suite with a 12-inch rainforest shower head, teak bench seat, bidet, towel warmer, and double sinks.
