About 755 Park Avenue
This solid, handsome apartment building was erected in 1914 on the former site of the Freundschaft (Friendship) Club that had been designed in 1889 by McKim, Mead & White.
This large, 12-story building was designed in Italian-Renaissance-palazzo-style by Rouse & Goldstone, the architects also of 760 Park Avenue diagonally across the avenue, and originally had 38 apartments. It was converted to a cooperative in 1955 and now has 46 units.
Its location is superb as it is close to the Asia Society two blocks south on Park Avenue and The Frick Collection at Fifth Avenue and 70th Street as well as many of the city’s most important art galleries and famous boutiques on Madison Avenue.
The building has an attractive entrance on 72nd Street, which is the city’s most attractive major residential cross-street and some of the city’s most exclusive and impressive apartment buildings are in the immediate vicinity.
