Overview

   About 269 West 72nd Street

This handsome, Italian Renaissance-palazzo-style apartment building was erected in 1925 and converted to a cooperative in 1986. The 16-story structure has 63 apartments.

The mid-block building is flanked by low-rise buildings. It is half a block from an express subway station at Broadway and Riverside Park is a block and a half away to the east.

The building, which permits protruding air-conditioners, has very attractive window reveals at both its base and top. The neighborhood has good shopping and is not far from the bustling Lincoln Center district to the south.

It is has no sidewalk landscaping, no health club, and no garage.

The area should continue to improve because of mammoth residential development at Riverside South, a Donald Trump project, nearby along Riverside Drive, and the huge mixed-use redevelopment of the New York Coliseum site at Columbus Circle to the south.
