About Sutton View, 420 East 58th Street
This 27-story, red-brick apartment building was erected in 1985. It is a condominium and has 75 apartments.
The mid-block building has a three-step entrance deck surrounded by aluminum pipe railing and bay windows on its second through seventh floors. Above the seventh floor, it has curved, white pipe-railing balconies. The building has consistent fenestration, discrete air-conditioners, a concierge, basement storage, glass entrance doors, and no garage and no sidewalk landscaping.
It is just to the east of another high-rise apartment tower, the New Yorker East, and across the street from the large, landscaping plaza of the Sovereign apartment tower. There are some attractive low-rise buildings to the west on the other side of an automobile ramp to the Queensborough Bridge on this street.
There are numerous restaurants and neighborhood stores nearby as well as three small parks. There is excellent cross-town bus service on 57th Street but the nearest subway entrance is at Third Avenue and 59th Street.
