On a fairly quiet block in Bushwick, a two-story building will gain a significant addition. At 310 Saint Nicholas Avenue, plans are in store to transform the plumber's headquarters into a retail and residential destination. A rendering by ND Architecture shows a brown façade around two levels reserved for retail space and a community facility. Meanwhile, the rental apartments on the upper level will have a distinctive gray design and, in many cases, private balconies. The building’s location one block from the Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues subway stop will be much appreciated by residents and shoppers alike.
According to plans filed with the city, there will be no more than three apartments per floor and a laundry room in the basement. There will be a community facility in the cellar, ground-floor retail, and a top-floor with double-height apartments. Prices for the apartments are not yet available, but CityRealty listings show that the median Bushwick rent is $2,000/month for studios, $2,300/month for one-bedrooms, and $2,400/month for two-bedrooms.
