Check out the rendering for a new eight-story luxury rental coming to Prospect Park South in Brooklyn.
Aufgang Architects has designed the building, which will occupy the empty lot at 230 East 18th Street between Albemarle Road and Beverly Road. Permits have not yet been filed, but design and construction firm Mozorov has revealed some of the details, including its unit breakdown; 13 studios, 10 one-bedrooms, and a pair of two-bedroom units. It will rise between a pair of existing brick residential structures, an archetype that lines most of the block.

Also revealed are some of the building's sustainability features. In lieu of conventional gas-fired boilers, it will instead be heated by a variable-refrigerant flow system - which requires no natural gas or fossil fuels. According to Morozov, this system is expected to save 150 to 200 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions. In addition, the building's fresh air will circulate via energy recovery ventilation, which passively cools or heats the incoming air.
