With the Queensboro Plaza subway stop at the end of the block and the Queens Plaza station a few blocks further, it’s no wonder the stretch of 27th Street near 41st Avenue has become a hot development spot in Long Island City. Sales launched at Queens Boro Tower in February. A few doors away, construction of Steel Haus recently topped out. 41-14 27th Street is empty but will not stay that way for long: Developer Kenny Liu purchased the property for $6.5 million in October 2016 (per Acris), and a more recent visit saw the site clear and ready for construction of a nine-story building to begin.
It is not clear whether the apartments will be condos or rentals, but the lack of an offering plan and average unit size of 750 square feet is indicative to rentals. According to renderings released by Queens-based Architects Studio, all 30 apartments will have oversized windows and select homes will have private balconies. Plans filed with the city call for a roof deck for residents and 2,080 square feet of retail space at grade level.
