After closing on a new development property at 31 Frost Street, Mortar Development has announced its intentions for it: Plans have been filed to demolish the two-story house currently on-site, and a five-story, 10-unit, 15,000-square-foot condominium will rise in its place. Sister company Mortar Architecture is likely to design the new building. Construction is expected to start this summer, and completion is estimated for early 2020.
Mortar Development could scarcely have chosen a more desirable location than this one in the heart of Williamsburg. The Metropolitan Avenue G train stop is a straight shot away to serve as a useful alternative to the L train, which also has a nearby subway stop. The site is two blocks from McCarren Park and surrounded by local hot spots like Pete’s Candy Store, Night of Joy, and Richlane.
