432 Park Avenue is known as the world's tallest residential building, and it just added another superlative: New York's best-selling building ever. Recorded sales total more than $2 billion to surpass the total dollar amount of initial closings in any single New York residential project. 48 of these residences were in excess of $20 million each.

But can money buy good taste? To answer that question, we looked at 432 Park Avenue’s 23 publicly-listed apartments to see how buyers decorated their high-ceilinged aeries that stand up to 1,400 feet above Manhattan. Granted, many of the listed units have never been lived in and the listing photos are purposely left clean so not to offend. A handful of these perches show some creativity and personal touches, but the overarching theme seems to be let the enormous windows and the views outside them be the star of the show.

What's black and white and red all over? This power pad occupying the entire western half of the 65th floor! The sleek bar, custom artwork, bright accents, and luxe textures are all expressions of the high life, and that is meant literally: Picture windows overlook sweeping views of the city skyline, Central Park, and the Triborough and George Washington Bridges to infuse the day with extra motivation.

This gracious unit with generous proportions, high ceilings, and abundant light occupies half the 38th floor. Its 10' x 10' windows, 12.5' ceilings, and expansive layout make it the natural choice for a model apartment at 432 Park Avenue. Designer Deborah Berke says, "Of course...it's all about the views," but luxe, sculptural pieces like a gold lead Yves Klein coffee table and a custom dining table call attention inside.

This custom unit is designed with a connoisseur of the arts in mind. A spacious entry gallery is an excellent place to display an art collection. It leads to the exquisite living/dining room, where the acoustics must be great for that grand piano in the corner. However, the true masterpieces can be found outside the window: North, south, and west exposures fill the apartment with city and Central Park views, and a west-facing master bath with a free-standing tub allows for bathing by sunset.
