LexParc - 127 East 30th Street: CARTER'S REVIEW

One of the rarest things in Manhattan is a very attractive, mid-rise, mid-block residential building especially on a very attractive residential street.

This 18-story apartment building, which is known as the LexPark, is just that. It is not an architectural masterpiece, but its design is pretty nice with a five-story base that is a bit lower than the adjoining brownstones to the west and a setback tower that is notable for its symmetry and the many balconies of the tower that are angled toward the center of the facade.

There is a good crispness to the facade design and the building also has quite an attractive light palette.

The pale-orange-brick building, which is located at 127 East 30th Street, was erected as a condominium in 1988 and has a canopied entrance and a doorman but no sidewalk landscaping and no garage. It has 73 apartments. It is just to the west of an imposing, limestone-clad academic/institutional building that also fronts on Lexington Avenue.

This location is convenient to both Murray Hill and the Flatiron District. There are many Indian restaurants nearby on Lexington Avenue and many trendy non-Indian restaurants nearby in the Flatiron District as well as the very popular Shake Shack in Madison Square Park a few blocks away.

There is a subway station at Park Avenue South and 28th Street.
