132 East 72nd Street CLOSE
This well-located, 15-story, brown- and red-brick building was erected in 1925 and converted to a cooperative in 1960. It has only 17 apartments.
The building, which has a balustraded roofline, has a large fan-shaped window above its canopied entrance and some double-height, arched windows near the top on its west facade. The building has an exposed rooftop watertank and its facade has had some repairs. The building has no garage and no balconies.
It is convenient to some cultural institutions and many world-famous boutiques along Madison Avenue as well as many restaurants and neighborhood shopping along Lexington and Third Avenues. Although the nearest subway station is several blocks away, there is good bus service on this major cross-town street.
