Blink Links Fitness with Savings

OCTOBER 15, 2010

Economics don’t stop us from wanting to stay in shape, and a new gym takes aim at both.

A new city gym named Blink has been offering online pre-opening discounts ahead of its grand opening this winter. The new fitness brand (actually an offshoot of high-end fitness favorite Equinox) plans to open new locations in NoHo (in the former Tower Records space at 16 East 4th Street), Paramus and Yonkers based on a new angle on the affordable workout: $20 per month—with no sign-up fees for the pre-opening deal—gets you full access to the 17,000 square foot fitness center. Blink claims it will offer state-of-the-art equipment, modern locker rooms and easy sign-up kiosks.

The gym’s web site is also running a three-year membership sweepstakes for each of their locations. Blink hopes to open its doors in November. Considering some New York City fitness centers charge that much just for a one-time guest workout, it sounds like a deal that’s too good not to get off the couch for.
