Grand Opening: Topshop Springs Up in Soho

A British style hotpsot finally crosses the pond.

If you happen to be anywhere near the corner of Broome and Broadway in Soho on the morning of April 2, you'll probably be distracted by a very long, very stylish queue. The U.S. Flagship of the Brit fashion mecca Topshop—after nearly a year of breathless anticipation—will finally open its doors to shoppers. There will be goodie bags, free beauty treatments, special guest DJs (including LCD Soundsystem star James Murphy) and other in-store happenings all day.

In the meantime, the Topshop crews cruise the city in a van, handing out free tote bags and catalogs and preaching the shop's impossibly-chic-on-the-cheap gospel to the probably-already-converted. On the racks at the store's stateside launch will be signature stuff from Topshop icon Kate Moss as well as lesser-known Boutique creatives and standard style staples, and guys will find Topman on the lower level.
