In Williamsburg: A New Hotel for a Growing Locale

JANUARY 30, 2012

For Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the presence of a sleek new boutique hotel represents another step on the neighborhood evolutionary ladder. williamsburg condos

No one can deny the remarkable growth–in barely over a decade–of this north Brooklyn neighborhood just one L train stop from Manhattan. From an artist-and-hipster enclave to a hip grownup community to the site of countless new condo towers and lofts, parks and restaurants, the neighborhood has become a first choice for many, especially young professionals and families.

So it is a sign of enduring confidence in the community that the 64-room Hotel Williamsburg began welcoming guests in November. This new addition offers modern boutique hotel standards like a small-but-elegant lobby with a water feature, retro-chic room decor and steal-able bath sundries by Malin+Goetz.

The hotel’s prime spot on North 12th Street overlooks McCarren Park and is steps from the famed Brooklyn Brewery and a host of neighborhood hotspots. Within blocks are luxury residences like Berry Street Lofts and The Edge condominium building overlooking a new waterfront park, an even newer ferry landing, and prime East River and Manhattan views. And there will soon be competition: Another boutique hotel plans to open later this year in Williamsburg, a mere two blocks away at 80 Wythe Avenue.
