Notable Neighbors with Bob Vila, Emeril Lagasse and Hilary Swank

DECEMBER 8, 2011

Emeril flips, Bob Vila flops, Hilary Swank settles in.

Bob Vila has finally sold his Madison Square penthouse—at a $1 million loss. The home improvement jefe bought the 2-bedroom loft at 15 East 26th Street in 2009; the home has been on the market since May, and was finally sold for an even $5 mil. Vila had more luck with the handful of properties he handily flipped in past years—including a TriBeCa loft in Franklin Tower, an Upper East Side townhouse and two apartments at Museum Tower (NY Observer).

Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse has put his Upper East Side condo at 158 East 61st Street on the market for $15 million. He paid $11.5 million in 2009 for the six-story townhouse with a custom Small Bone kitchen with double SubZero refrigerators and freezers, a 150 bottle wine refrigerator and a Wolf commercial stove with two ovens and a pantry (CurbedNY).

Here’s a peek inside Hilary Swank’s sleek space in the West Village’s coveted Superior Ink building. Designer Mark Zeff brought his interiors expertise to the 1,400 square foot space that the actress purchased for $3.5 million in 2010 (CurbedNY).
