Notable Neighbors: Golden Globe celebrity Real Estate

JANUARY 20, 2011

While big stars tend to head for the hills of Beverly (or Hollywood, or Malibu), a handful of this year’s honorees keep it low-key and East Coast.

Zillow offers this roundup of homes of 2011 Golden Globe winners and nominees. Among them: Actress Julianne Moore (Best Actress Nominee, Comedy, “The Kids Are All Right”) calls a lovingly-restored 1800s West Village townhouse home; The townhouse was on the market in 2009 for $11,995,000, but later taken off the market (photos, MarquetteTurner). Through the highs and lows of the last few years, Michelle Williams (Best Actress Nominee, Drama, “Blue Valentine”) has lived in a modest (by young Hollywood standards) 4-floor Brooklyn home, which she purchased with the late actor and ex-fiance Heather Ledger in 2005. Williams and daughter Matilda Rose, 5, reportedly have no plans to leave the Brooklyn nest for points west—or elsewhere—anytime soon.

What might keep more big box office—and small-screen—stars in the Big Apple? Perhaps the "Selling New York" (HGTV’s Thursday night real estate reality show) superbrokers need to try just a little harder this season (via CurbedNY).
