Rachel Uchitel sells; Alec Baldwin leaves the El Dorado for SoHo, Faye Dunaway vs. landlord in rent-stabilized flat battle

Sports fan Rachel Uchitel has managed to walk away ahead of the game on the recent sale of the Park Avenue apartment she bought just a year ago. The three-bedroom at 77 Park Avenue just sold for $1.95 million—$300k more than she paid for it. The former club hostess plans to move to San Francisco with her insurance broker boyfriend (via RealEstalker).

Alec Baldwin’s apartment is back on the market. The Upper West Side man is discovering his downtown side—girlfriend Hilaria Thomas prefers SoHo. The actor’s 3,000 square foot El Dorado co-op with views of the Central Park reservoir is currently selling for $9.5 million (NYPost).

Faye Dunaway may seem to be an unlikely target for eviction and/or victim of slumlord negligence, but the actress has been involved in a bitter battle with the owner of her rent-stabilized one-bedroom tenement walk-up on East 78th Street. The situation came to light recently when the Bonnie and Clyde star was threatened with eviction on the grounds that the apartment, which she has been renting since 1994, was not her primary residence as required by her lease. Ms. Dunaway, who lives primarily in Los Angeles and sub-leases the Manhattan apartment to her son, Liam, claims she has logged countless complaints about the apartment’s squalid conditions and the landlord’s refusal to remedy them. At one point she allegedly told him via voice mail, “I hope you have a terrible life.” (RealEstalker)
