Notable NYC Neighbors

DECEMBER 29, 2011

Bond-man Daniel Craig looks at TriBeCa lofts; Jessica Simpson looks on Bond Street; the Gershwin apartment is for sale, though not for a song. NYC apartments - notable neighbors.

Daniel Craig (who appears in Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as well as the upcoming Bond flick Skyfall) was spotted loft shopping in TriBeCa with wife Rachel Weisz. The pretty pair peeped a $7.495 million, 4,200 square foot co-op at 427 Washington Street. The full-floor apartment has enviable Hudson views and plenty of privacy (NYPost).

In Noho, Jessica Simpson–soon to wed former NFL player Eric Johnson and in full nesting mode, i.e. very pregnant–was spotted investigating the rental angle at 25 Bond Street, where she toured a 7,300 square foot, five-bedroom apartment with the building’s standard two private terraces and four fireplaces, renting for $55,000 a month (via NYNearSay).

The pre-war penthouse co-op at 33 Riverside Drive where brothers George and Ira Gershwin penned legendary lyrics and memorable melodies in the 1920s is on the market for $2.5 million. The Upper West Side duplex apartment, comprised of two adjoining penthouses, has river views and a cool spiral staircase. Even better: In 1930 Ethel Merman auditioned there for her stage debut role in Girl Crazy (CurbedNY).
