Soho penthouse is the pick for Weisz and Craig; Tumblr founder leaves Village rental to buy Williamsburg condo; Joan Rivers talks real estate… NYC neighbors Soho, Williamsburg, East side

Oscar-winner Rachel Weisz and “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” star hubby Daniel Craig are reportedly winding down their search to buy a Soho condo. The pair will soon close the deal on a three-bedroom, 4,350-square-foot triplex penthouse at 20-26 Greene Street in SoHo, listed at $11.5 million (NYPost).

The super-hot Esquire building on Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg is the choice for Tumblr founder David Karp. The 26-year-old microblog magnate paid $1.6 million--$25,000 over the $1.575 million ask--for the 1,700-square-foot two-bedroom duplex. Karp, raised on the Upper West Side, once referred to his former West Village neighborhood as “off the grid”--so the south side of Williamsburg will truly feel like an adventure for him (NYObserver).

Joan Rivers wants to talk–real estate, that is. The outspoken comedienne has re-listed her lavishly-appointed Upper East Side apartment at 1 East 62nd Street in the Spencer Condominium building for $29 million. The “painstakingly restored” former mansion has 23-foot living room ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace, a private elevator, entry hall with a two-story gallery, and amazing Central Park views from the south-facing terrace. Ms. Rivers had listed the four-bedroom penthouse for $25 million in 2009, but no one bit, so off the market it went. Perhaps she was inspired by recent big ticket sales at other NYC luxury condos like 15 Central Park West (NBCNewYork).
