TriBeCa draws Meg Ryan and Shaun White; Oprah’s penthouse sold to Londoner; Devil WearsNYC-Apartments-Celebrity Prada party pad for sale.

Meg Ryan and boyfriend John Mellencamp may be looking for something more permanent in downtown NYC. Ryan, who has been renting at 40 Mercer Street, recently toured a condo at TriBeCa’s 51 Walker Street. The apartment–onetime home of both Leo DiCaprio and Gwen Stefani–is a 3,200-square-foot, three-bedroom triplex with a private garden and a swimming pool listed for $5.25 million (NYPost).

Casino head Steve Wynn was “diplomatically discouraged” by the co-op board at 2 East 70th Street from attempting to buy the $36 million penthouse duplex that had belonged to late billionaire Teddy Forstmann. Wynn has also considered the city’s most expensive co-op listing, a $65 million apartment at 785 Fifth Avenue owned by songwriter Denise Rich, and a stratospherically-priced $77.5 million Ritz-Carlton penthouse condo at 50 Central Park South owned by real estate developer Christopher Jeffries (NYPost).

Oprah Winfrey’s penthouse at 207 East 57th street was purchased for $7.75 million–the week’s biggest sale–by a London-based hedge fund manager. Oprah bought the apartment–a three-bedroom condo with a 750 square-foot terrace–for $7.1 million in 2008 (NYObserver).

The apartment at 56 Crosby Street that had a brief star turn in the fashionista flick The Devil Wears Prada is on the market for $5.2 million (CurbedNY).

Olympic snow- and skateboarder Shaun White has been spotted apartment-hunting in TriBeCa. The 25-year-old gold medalist recently rolled through a 3,360 square-foot, three-bedroom loft condo with a gas fireplace and a terrace selling for $5.75 million at 72 Reade Street (NYPost).
