NYC Real Estate Roundup

MARCH 20, 2012

Inside 15 Central Park West
Get a taste of the celebrity-packed 15 Central Park West (shown) via Barbara Baekgaard, co-creator of the ubiquitous15 centralpark west condos for sale Vera Bradley handbags, who purchased her three-bedroom condo there for (only) $17 million. Her tour covered the lobby (with three gas fireplaces),  the dining room (Baekegaard swears it’s among NYC’s best), a health spa and gym, a 75-foot pool with a glass roof, a 20-seat screening room and an enormous deck. And we haven’t even reached the apartment yet (via NYObserver).

Chelsea seminary condo, phase two
After selling the last apartment of the 53-unit Chelsea Enclave condo development, the Brodsky Organization's redevelopment of the General Theological Seminary will enter phase two with a new 38-unit condominium called 422W20 at 422 West 20th Street. While the units are small and "no frills," high demand is expected for the new Chsela condo, which features picturesque views of the seminary grounds and access to the Close, a block-long garden across the street (WSJ).

The ‘Burg gets a Whole Foods
Another huge amenity is coming to Williamsburg, Brooklyn: a 39,000 square-foot Whole Foods supermarket at Bedford Avenue and North Fourth Street. In addition to being within blocks of popular condos like The Mill Building at 85 North 3rd Street, the new store will be part of a $40 million development that will include a gym and luxury rental apartments. The Williamsburg location is the chain’s second for the borough; the first, in Gowanus, received approval last month and is scheduled to open in 2013 (via DNA info).
