The Brooklyn Flea Food Mob Hits Central Park

APRIL 16, 2010

An impressively-curated food vendor collection will offer more snack options at SummerStage.

Springtime is welcome news for everyone, and Brooklyn Flea has bloomed anew in the celebrated flea market’s outdoor flagship location in Fort Greene. For those who Flea for the food, the freshest additions don’t disappoint. This year’s new vendor offerings include sandwiches from East Village pork star Porchetta, bagels and schmear from Mile End, Dutch stroopwafels and dumplings from The Good Fork and sparkling bevvies by Brooklyn Soda Works.

If you dream of sampling Brooklyn Flea gourmet grub whenever possible but are loathe to leave Manhattan, the news is even better: Food vendage at this year’s 36 Central Park SummerStage events will be provided by the Flea family of food purveyors. Leaving stale pretzels and hot dogs of questionable origin in the dust, this summer’s concert- and film-goers can look forward to snacking on gourmet pizza, artisanal sausages, items from Brooklyn favorites Diner and Marlow & Sons, New England seafood rolls from The Red Hook Lobster Pound, and, yes, Red Hook ball field soccer tacos.
