For this recurring series, MOMA’s Department of Film selects influential, innovative films made in the past 12 months that they believe will stand the test of time–each of these films is a contender for lasting historical significance. This year’s choices include Aki Kaurismäki’s Le Havre, Werner Herzog’s Into the Abyss and more.
