What's Going on This Week: Thanksgiving Edition

NOVEMBER 25, 2009

A wealth of options for Thanksgiving feasting and holiday gifting.

It's something the kids (or your out-of-town guests) will always remember, or maybe you've always wanted to see it for yourself. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade rolls by once again, and, as always, it's best to get there early. If you'd rather skip the crowds you can watch the festivities live on NBC from 9AM to 12 Noon.

If you'd rather let somebody else do the cooking this Thanksgiving, the city's restaurants have you covered. And if you'd like to give something back to the tireless folks at the Food Bank for the holiday meals they provide, City Winery is holding their first annual Thanks-4-Giving benefit, featuring notable musical guests.

The shopping season officially begins Friday, and the Union Square Holiday Market will be ready. It's a great place to find gifts that go beyond the usual mall store offerings.
