May 15, 2008
Marketing has begun for a 7-story residential condominium with 40-foot-wide apartments at 316 East 22nd Street between Second and First Avenues.
The 6-unit project is being developed by a partnership of Hal Einhorn, Yiannes Einhorn and Bernd Allen, which recently completed the condominium conversion of a building at 225 East 24th Street.
David Howell Design is doing the interiors and Antony Martin is the architect.
The development is an enlargement of a low-rise building on the site.
The apartments are full-floor residences and each one has a parking space in the first-floor garage.
The lobby has flamed stone floors and pre-cast concrete paneled walls, an intercom system and a storage room for packages and laundry.
Apartments have 10-foot-high ceilings, stone fireplaces and 8-inch-wide Siberian Oak floors and beamed ceilings. The elevator is key-accessed.
Kitchens have white lacquer cabinetry, CaesarStone countertops, a lacquer-front refrigerator, a Dacor six-burner cooktop and a walk-in pantry/laundry room.
Master bathrooms have herringbone-patterned travertine floors and a six-foot-wide Origami tub. The second bathroom has a cast-iron Kohler "Tea for Two" tub.
