A rendering of a 21-story, sliver residential condominium building at 19 Park Place near the Woolworth Building appeared yesterday on wirednewyork.com and is in the brochure of Ismael Leyva Architect.
The slender, silver-colored shaft appears to be wedged tightly between two five-story buildings on a site across from Larry Silverstein's construction site for 30 Park Place, a very tall mixed-use tower designed by Robert A. M. Stern that will contain luxury residential condominiums and a Four Seasons Hotel when the project, which was halted because of the financial crisis, is resumed.
The proposed building at 19 Park Place, which extends through the block to 16 Murray Street, has been designed by Mr. Leyva and will have 29 apartments. It is somewhat similar in design to his rounded prow plan for 85 Flatbush Extension in Brooklyn.
His other projects include Place 57 on East 57th Street, 785 Eighth Avenue and One Carnegie Hill.
The Department of Buildings lists Nancy Luk as an officer of ABN Realty LLC of Valley Stream, New York as the owner of the site.
