Carter Horsley
Review of 333 West End Avenue by Carter Horsley

This very attractive and dignified, beige-brick apartment building was erected in 1925 and converted to a cooperative in 1979.

The 15-story structure has 48 units.

The building was designed in the Italian Renaissance palazzo-style with Venetian detailing, some fine decorative window reveals and gargoyles. It has a canopied, arched entrance on the sidestreet, rope quoins and a scalloped cornice. It permits protruding air-conditioners and has no sidewalk landscaping.

It is located in a landmark-designated neighborhood and intersects with the eagle fountain that graces an entrance to Riverside Park. It is conveniently located near Central Park, Lincoln Center, museums, restaurants, grocers, and public transportation.
