Carter Horsley's Review of The Toulaine

Carter Horsley's Building Review
"This large, red-brick, midblock apartment house between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue was built in 1974 and converted to a cooperative in 1979. Just two blocks north of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, this 24-story, 244-unit building has a marvelous location close to major stores, movie theaters and restaurants, but on a relatively quiet street for this bustling area. Its neighorhood was been greatly transformed in recent years and now is one of the most desirable in the city because of all its amenities. This building is very close to crosstown buses and a subway station. The area is by no means saturated yet as the huge Riverside South development will add several thousand more apartments in 16 handsome buildings close to the Hudson River to the west. The building, which has large picture windows but now balconies, is a tower flanked by two lower wings." Read Carter's Full Review
