146 Chambers Street: CARTER'S REVIEW

Two floors were added to this pleasant, red-brick, five-story building at 146 Chambers Street in 2007 when it was converted to four condominium apartments.

The building has three two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath units and a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath duplex penthouse with a terrace with a hot tub.

The sponsor of the conversion is 146 Chambers Owners LLC, of which Jeff Gerson is a member.

Michael Zenreich is the architect for the conversion of the original 1915 building.

The apartments have high ceilings, washers and dryers, and gas fireplaces and the building will a roof deck and “cyber” doorman and private storage units. The elevator is private-key locked.

Kitchens have walnut cabinetry, 42-inch Sub Zero refrigerator, a 48-inch Viking range and grill, a Bosch microwave, wine storage, garbage disposal, a Fisher Paykel double dishwasher, wine cooler, double-basin sink and Dornbracht fixtures.

The master baths have white marble floors and walls, a Toto toilet, a steam shower, a Jacuzzi tub and a double vanity with Dornbracht fixtures.

The full-floor, two-bedroom apartments with two-and-a-half baths on the second, third and fifth floors have 1,571 square feet and were initially priced at $1,995,000 to $2,150,000. The three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath penthouse has 1,926 square feet and was priced at $3,795,000.

The building is close to P.S. 234, the civic center and TriBeCa and is very convenient to public transportation.
