The Brevard - 245 East 54th Street: CARTER'S REVIEW

Despite its utilitarian, no-frills exterior, this 29-story apartment tower has a prime midtown location within short walking distance of some of the city's most famous and interesting office towers, such as Citicorp Center, as well as the east midtown area's famous restaurants, such as P. J. Clarke's, stores and movie theaters. Erected in 1977, the dark brown-brick building was converted to a cooperative in 1983. With 444 apartments, it is one of the largest apartment buildings in the area and apartments on upper floors have interesting views. Although the area has considerable traffic, it is not far from quite quiet Sutton Place district and and is not far from public transportation.
