Aqua CLOSE
This sprightly, 7-story residential condominium building at 415 Leonard Street in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn is one of several vigorously designed new apartment buildings that have sprung up around McCarren Park in the Williamsburg and Greenpoint sections of Brooklyn.
This one, which was originally called Aqua because of its strong light blue facades, was designed by Robert M. Scarano Jr., for AMB Holdings LLC of which Abraham Banda is a principal.
It has 54 apartments and many balconies and one of the city's most distinctive rooflines punctuated by several curved "bumps."
The building, which was completed in 2008, has central air-conditioning, 10-foot ceilings, a roof deck, Sub Zero refrigerators, cherrywood and glass kitchen cabinetry, video intercom and washer and dryers and part-time doorman. It has some duplexes and is pet friendly.
The facade of the base of the building is a dark gray brick with three white stringcourses.
