This attractive, spindly tower was erected in 1990 by Glenwood Management, one of the city’s major developers of luxury rental apartment buildings.

The 45-story building is quite graceful with many corner windows and white window framing that enlivens its red-brick facade. It has a very impressive entrance with landscaping, limestone piers and a wrought-iron fence that lead to a large, two-story high lobby.

The building has a concierge, a doorman, an attended service entrance, a garage, a rooftop sundeck and health club with a pool, marble bathrooms with whirlpool tubs in the mater baths, many balconies, telephone intercom, security alarm system, ceramic tile floors in the kitchens, and 9-foot-high ceilings.

The building, which was designed by Costas Kondylis, has a very handsome one-story retail base at the intersection with the avenue. It has 237 apartments.

There is cross-town bus service on 79th Street as well as an entrance to the FDR Drive and express buses to Lower Manhattan.

The building is known as the Lucerne and its address is 350 East 79th Street and it is also known as 1505 First Avenue.
