An agreement between the hotel union workers and Elad Properties is allowing the preservation of 348 guest rooms - 150 more than originally planned. The remaining rooms will be converted into roughly 150 luxury apartments. The Plaza Hotel will also maintain the the hotel's Grand Ballroom, Palm Court, and Oak Bar which will remain open to open to the public.

The plan makes about 350 workers happy as they will be able to keep their jobs.
