Brack Capital and Continental Equities have received permits from the city's Department of Buildings to start foundation work for the Element, a 35-story condominium tower at 555 West 59th Street between West End and Amsterdam Avenues.

The development will have about 200 apartments.

The handsome, blue-glass tower will have numerous balconies and an illuminated top and has been designed by SCLE Architects.

The building will have a concierge and doorman, a garage, a yoga room, a basketball court, three pools and a gym.

Sales are expected to begin next month.

Its location is convenient to the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Fordham University and the Hudson River.
