I recently visited Astor Place, the latest high-end development from The Related Group, the developers of the Time Warner Center, Park Imperial and the Chatham. For this project, they have chosen renowned architect Charles Gwathmey to design not only the structure and exterior of the project, but also many components of the interiors as well.

Gwathmey, who is known for the residences he has designed for the likes of David Geffen, Jerry Seinfeld and Steven Spielberg, has fine tuned everything in this building, down to the custom designed faucets for the kitchen sink

The project is stellar in many respects, but the features that left a strong impression included the views (from walls of floor to ceiling glass) and the unique layouts of the apartments. Most of the apartments are rather large and given the curvature of the facade, they offer a unique flow that is a welcome departure to the traditional 90 degree angles found in most other apartments.

Adjacent to NoHo, the East Village and Greenwich Village, Astor Place is a unique opportunity to purchase a loft of this quality in this area.
