One United Nations Park is renting luxury Midtown apartments with large closets and East River views

The black glass facade of Solow Building Company’s One United Nations Park imposes itself on the periphery of the East River skyline and the passer-by's consciousness. Once inside, the lofty edifice designed by Richard Meier & Partners can't help but inspire awe even in the wake of its founder's fall from grace. The revolving doors, themselves made of black glass, stand in stark juxtaposition with the travertine walls, floor, and desk, not to mention the Joan Miró triptych hanging in the atrium lobby. Yet the doors, like the windows, are only black when looked at from outside. Inside, the glass is transparent.

Being able to see while remaining unseen elevates the experience of being within One United Nations Park. Knowing, however, that one can always look out binds one’s self to the building, quickly creating a sense of intimacy, like sharing a secret that one knows will be kept in safe hands. It’s a feeling that will soon become familiar to many as a new batch of rentals on the third through 27th floors has been released onto the market.

Unlike their condo counterparts, which start on the 28th floor and from $1.385 million, the rentals do not come outfitted with full home automation technology. However, these residents do have access to the building's extensive amenities. All prices are net effective, and can undoubtedly seem staggering when compared to the Murray Hill median, which ranges from $2,983/month for studios to $6,550/month for three-bedrooms (per CityRealty listings). However, One United Nations Park's architectural credentials, impressive infrastructure and interiors, and array of amenities can't help but drive prices up.
