Construction has finally begun at a long vacant parcel at 150 East 108th Street (aka 1733 Lexington Avenue). The corner property sits just two blocks south of the 6 line’s 110th Street station and is in a vibrant, mural-filled stretch of East Harlem.
Though approved building plans were submitted in 2015, the corner property has sat fallow up until recently. The site’s owner is listed as Afshin Hedvat under the LLC 108 Lexington Operating. Midtown-based Hany Rizkalla is the architect of the building whose other uptown projects include 2262 FDB and 411 East 151st Street.

Renderings posted on the site and on the architects’ page show a dynamic design of metal and glass embellished by interconnected zig-zagging balconies. The building will rise a modest eight stories and will hold ten residential units averaging under 900 square feet apiece. According to Curbed, floors three through six will have two residences apiece, while the seventh and eighth levels will have full-floor units. There will be retail on the ground floor and an “ambulatory diagnostic care” space on the second.
