41 Great Jones Street is a newly-converted, high-end boutique condominium in the downtown neighborhood of NoHo. Developed by Blumenfeld Development Group, the 1890 building which originally housed garment manufacturers was reimagined by Morris Adjmi Architects. Adjmi’s portfolio stands out for their above and beyond blending of a buildings’ historic context with modern elements.
The first home to come online in the building is a duplex three-bed, three-and-a-half bath with 4,235 square feet of interior space and three balconies. The two-level spread is listed for a cool $15 million ($3,542 per ft²).

The home blends modern and traditional “urban charm” with 10-inch wide European oak floors, a soaring living room with 21-foot double-height ceilings, exposed brick, two private balconies, a home office, an in-home washer/dryer, and a private keyed elevator entrance.
The lower level of the home opens directly into the large, double-height living room, dining room, and kitchen. There are two rows of oversized windows and a gas-burning fireplace serves as a focal point.

41 Great Jones Street is a landmarked 13,000 square foot, masonry and cast iron building that Blumenfeld Development has repositioned into a three-unit luxury condominium. Sited within the NoHo Historic District, the developer gained approval from the Landmarks Preservation Commission in 2015 to build an additional floor atop the original five-story structure. Designed by Herter Brothers Architects and finished in 1890, the building retains much of its original appearance and over the years housed a number of garment manufacturers.
Newly introduced is an elegant lobby composed of Belgian bluestone tile and Kenya Black marble slab walls. The building comes with private storage and a virtual doorman system.

Great Jones Street is located in the super hip and convenient NoHo neighborhood. The street was named after the lawyer, Samuel Jones, who wanted the street to be named after him. The only problem was, there was already a “Jones Street” in Greenwich Village, named after Samuel’s brother-in-law, Dr. Gardner Jones. To avoid any confusion, Samuel Jones suggested his street be called “Great” Jones Street because it was wider than his brother-in-law’s.
Now, the neighborhood is filled with vintage shops, super-hip clothing boutiques, old-fashioned bookstores and purveyors of one-of-a-kind finds. NoHo is also still home to many artists and art galleries.
