From the heart of Williamsburg to the borders of Borough Park, Brooklyn-based firm Samuel Wieder Architects has made its mark throughout the borough. As company Instagram’s latest post shows, it has turned its attention to a quiet Flatbush street with a seven-story building set to make a splash at 2702 Snyder Avenue. While the planned 74-foot height won’t have it towering too far over its neighbors, an animated facade promises to make a statement at street level. On top, a large planted roof terrace brings a welcome touch of green to this decidedly urban street.
According to permits filed with the city, the building will have retail space and an ambulatory diagnostic facility on the first floor, a daycare center with outdoor space on the second floor, and 105 residential units, 30 percent of which will be affordable. Many lucky residents will have private balconies, and all units will enjoy abundant natural light through oversized windows. Amenities will include a basement-level screening room and fitness center, and a sixth-story lounge and outdoor terrace.
Between the bike room, 53 parking places, and close proximity to the Church Avenue 2/5 subway station, future residents will have no shortage of ways to get around. Closer to home, the building is on a quiet block with easy access to local schools, churches, restaurants, supermarkets, and local entertainment venues Brooklyn Fete and Kings Theatre.
