In the Crotona Park East section of the Bronx, construction is winding down on an eight-story building with affordable and supportive housing units at 902 Jennings Street. Non-profit New Destiny Housing is building the project known as The Jennings through the city's Low Income Housing Credit Program and State Low Income Credit Program. Sixty percent of the 42 units have been set aside for low-income or formerly homeless individuals or families, including those coming directly from domestic violence shelters, as referred by city agencies. An affordable lottery for the remaining 18 units has just been announced.

Qualifying individuals and households have until August 15, 2019 to apply for one- through three-bedroom apartments from $1,002/month. Building amenities and staff will include Family Support Program personnel, a live-in superintendent, a part-time desk monitor, card-operated laundry room, community room, bike room, and storage. It also offers communal outdoor space, and Crotona Park is only three blocks away. Moreover, the Freeman Street subway stop is down the block.
