When Sara D. Roosevelt Park was dedicated in 1934, the news heralded that day as “the birth of the new the Lower East Side.” Nearly 100 years later, a brand-new Lower East Side has taken shape around the park with hip hotels, edgy dining and nightlife, and luxury condos. According to Bowery Boogie, the lot's owner, One Yaniv Cohen of “Acmos on Chrystie LLC" purchased the parkside site for $15M in 2014 and then brought Nexus Development on board as partners.
