Features

Between increasingly flexible work arrangements and the blossoming of the borough, Brooklyn has emerged as many buyers' first choice rather than the consolation prize for those priced out of Manhattan. This has led to a residential building boom to accommodate demand, and a new entrant is Post House, a ground-up, 11-story condominium at 533 Pacific Street. A few months after an offering plan was accepted, sales have launched on the 41 units inside. Current availabilities start at $1.65 million for two-bedrooms and $2.425 million for three-bedrooms. Closings are expected to commence in early 2023.
Sterling Town Equities is at the helm of the project, and the building was designed by Workshop/APD in partnership with architect of record Issac & Stern. The building presents an Art Deco-inspired tribute to the original post office building that originally stood on the site. The Atlantic Avenue side of the building features a white brick facade, black geometric metal cladding and window finishes, and stepped terraces and loggias. On Pacific Street, residents are greeted by a red brick facade and a gated, arched entryway.

“Post House is a love letter to Brooklyn — the perfect blend of past and present with an undeniable elegance that permeates all aspects of its design” — Brook Quach, Design Director and Associate, Workshop/APD
Post House is in a central location allowing for easy access to Downtown Brooklyn, Park Slope, Fort Greene, Gowanus, and Carroll Gardens. Indeed, the Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center transportation hub one block away allows for easy access to practically anywhere in New York. Closer to home, cultural offerings include Brooklyn Academy of Music, Mark Morris Dance Group, Barclays Center, Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Art, and The Center for Fiction. Big-box retailers Whole Foods, Target, and Apple have opened Brooklyn outposts nearby in recent years.
It is also located in an area that is seeing a growing amount of residential housing. Post House is just up the street from Saint Marks Place, another Issac & Stern design where closings have recently commenced; remaining availabilities range from $595K for a studio to $3.15 million for a three-bedroom. Up the street, closings at Five Six One Pacific come to an average of $1,343 per square foot; current availabilities start at $675K.
